Welcome to MBS ART THERAPY

- utilizing art in the therapeutic process -

Are you looking for an alternative to talk therapy?

  • Do you feel like sometimes words are not enough to express how you are feeling?

  • Do you miss the feeling of drawing inside the lines?

    • Or drawing outside of the lines?

  • Do you want a safe way to express yourself through line and form? Inside AND/OR out of the lines?

  • Do you struggle with expressing yourself verbally/physically where you feel seen, heard and understood?

  • Do you have a hobby or craft that brings up feelings you would like to explore and be supported through and/or want to explore new ways of creating?

Art Therapy may be right for you!

Who is Art Therapy for?

anybody and everybody

Are you thinking to yourself: but I’m not an “artist”?!

NO WORRIES!

Almost every client that has walked into the art therapy space says the same thing.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE AN “ARTIST” TO BENEFIT FROM ART THERAPY!

and alternatively, everyone is considered an “artist” in the art therapy space with their own unique style of expression.

Plus, your art is kept in a safe locked portfolio for the duration of your sessions (unless therapeutically applicable to change), as it can contain confidential material and is made for your own personal therapeutic process and not for others.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE ANYTHING to do Art Therapy, except willing to give it a try.

Who am I?

My name is Marissa Batya Singer, MA ATR

I am a registered art therapist

I recently returned to Western Mass from living and working as an art therapist in Montreal, Quebec for many years.

Find out more about my background here.

My Therapeutic Approach

My approach is humanistic, client-centred, and (primarily) non-directive art therapy.

I work along a spectrum of therapeutic practice

clinical “psychodynamic” art therapy <———— > open art studio art as therapy

I utilize and incorporate elements of each into my treatment and care, dependent on clients needs.

I work to meet every individual where they are:

physically

emotionally

and

creatively

to provide optimum care both in the moment, and in working towards their goals.
